Here we are, my last post of the year.
First, I want to thank everyone who has signed up for this community, especially the paid subscribers. Knowing you’re out there, expecting new thoughts and information every day, keeps me going. Every little bit of income helps, and those five dollar memberships and use of the Amazon affiliate links is much appreciated. If you’re on the fence, I really hope knowing just how much having an audience helps.
Thank you.
Second, don’t expect me to stop or slow down in the coming months. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from fitness, it’s the importance of regular, consistent, effort. There may be months when it feels like nothing is happening, but keep going long enough and eventually it pays off. If nothing else, I hope that through writing every day I become a better and more insightful writer. If I only encourage one person to create more art or approach content with a critical eye, it’s worth every second of my time.
Thank you.
Finally, while I’m not much for resolutions and don’t think we should ever wait for the calendar to roll over before making a positive change, I do believe that moments like these have significance. To that end, in 2023 I hope to relax a little and take some of the pressure off of myself to only watch movies that are new to me, read books I’ve never read before, and just work, work, work. I need to spend time with old friends and see what new things they have to teach me. I need to remember what it’s like to have fun again.
But wait, there’s more!
Some of you know, I just submitted a short story to an anthology. I should know in about a month if it’s accepted, but if not, I’ll make revisions and publish it myself. There’s a long-in-the-works novel that will be my primary focus now. Hopefully I can share with you by the end of the year. And I’m already mulling over the next short story or novel. Maybe someday I’ll be an overnight success. If so, I’ll owe each of you reading this a tremendous debt.
Thank you.
